“I have been a member of Greater Atlantic City Chamber of Commerce as a private company and as a public entity member. I see the benefits of having such a strong chamber on both sides of the work I do in our community. From a private consultants firm point of view, the Chamber not only assists with networking but is an advocate for local and state policies that help the small business owner. Typically, a small business owner only has one voice with which to voice a concern, with the Chamber’s assistance, that voice is expanded exponentially. The ideal example of this was the “No North Jersey Casino’s” campaign. Joe Kelly and the team at GACC spoke at any venue possible and took the argument to the State Legislature. The Bill was defeated, in my opinion thanks to the efforts of the Chamber.
From a public entity, such as my position with the CRDA, I see the ability of the Chamber to reach out to our offices and look to solve local issues. Whether it’s a zoning and land use matter that needs assistance with our regulations or a change to how applications and the development process works, the Chamber has been an advocate for what’s best for our community. The support we received during our Master Plan and Land Use regulation process was on point and very helpful.
If you are a business owner or an interested resident of our community, I would recommend not just joining the Chamber but become an active member.”
