The Chamber continues to finalize its Chair’s Council membership, having spent the last few months meeting one-on-one with business leaders and other stakeholders to gain consensus on priorities for 2010 and beyond. We have also developed a program of work, a set of managing principles and an organizational structure to guide our efforts. Read more
NextGen Aviation Research and Technology Park Breakfast Panel Update
The Chamber will host an advocacy event on Monday, February 8 at Blue Heron Pines Golf Club to update members on the progress of the NextGen Aviation Research and Technology Park. Read more.
Legislative Update

Neighborhood Revitalization Tax Credit Program (NRTCP) and Urban Transit HubTax Credit Program
State Senator James Whelan has introduced legislation (S-3127) that would revise the Neighborhood Revitalization Tax Credit and Urban Transit Hub Tax Credit Programs to extend eligibility to muncipalities in which casino gaming is authorized (Atlantic City). This is an important piece of legislation for which the Chamber has been a catalyst. We have been advocating on behalf of this for approximately the past 18 months. If passed, it could have a significant impact on investment and economic development in Atlantic City.

Extending the Permit Extension Act of 2008 – A-4347 (Greenwald/D-6; Malon/R-30): Committee passed. Extends state, county and municipal permits issued after Jan. 1, 2007 until Dec. 31, 2012. Read more

As historian George Santayana advised, what we learn from the past will guide us in the future. We don't have the luxury of lamenting about what could have been.
