Ken Calemmo Chairman's Message
In the early 1970’s a group of business, civic, political and religious leaders came together to help save what was left of Atlantic City at that time. The circumstances had become so dire that a news headline about the demise of Atlantic City read “The Last One out of Town, Please Turnout the Lights.” Fortunately for all of us, these individuals came together for a common goal and, through their efforts, were able to establish the first legalized gaming jurisdiction in the United States outside of Nevada. This silver bullet saved a city and transformed the landscape of the entire State of New Jersey. It also provided elevated New Jersey on the national stage and was the catalyst for unprecedented economic growth and success for the region and the state. Read more. >

The Chamber serves as the voice of the business community with elected officials and other governmental and public sector individuals and agencies at the local, county and state levels. Our business advocacy efforts are designed to foster a stable, predictable and sustainable climate for businesses in our region. We believe public policy should serve the needs and interests of the public, without acting as a deterrent to economic growth and development.

Atlantic Cape Community College Is Offering Basic Skills Training Classes
Atlantic Cape Community College, in partnership with the New Jersey Department of Labor and Workforce Development, is offering Basic Skills Training classes at no charge to all private-sector and non-profit employers in New Jersey. However, employees taking the classes must be paid at their regular hourly rate while in training. The Basic Skills Training classes are provided by a project funded by a literacy grant from the New Jersey Department of Labor and Workforce Development (NJLWD) and are a cooperative partnership of the NJLWD, the NJ Business and Industry Association (NJBIA) and the NJ Community College Workforce Consortium (NJCCWC).
