Jeff and Carla Ropiecki Honored at CASA’s 5th Annual Community Awareness Breakfast
On May 27th, 2009, Court Appointed Special Advocates (CASA) of Atlantic and Cape May Counties honored Jeff and Carla Ropiecki, and the CapeBank Charitable Foundation, for their support and contributions to foster children in our communities.
Jeff Ropiecki of the CapeBank Charitable Foundation spoke at CASA's 5th Annual Community Awareness Breakfast of his own experiences as a foster parent and of the importance of ensuring that each child who comes through his home has a voice in the court. Senator Jeff Van Drew presented both Jeff and Carla Ropiecki with a proclamation.
Former foster child and New York Times bestselling author, Ashley Rhodes-Courter, gave the keynote address about her nine years in foster care. She spoke passionately about how CASA altered her life to over 130 community members who attended the event.
