Challenging Times Create Opportunities When Member Businesses Become Involved in the Chamber
As I begin my tenure as your Chamber Chairman, I am excited to lead our organization during a time when we have opportunities to foster an improved business climate both regionally and throughout the state of New Jersey. Of course, we are not without formidable challenges…the economy and increased competition for our casino industry being chief among them.
However, I also see many opportunities inherent in those challenges. Opportunities
to further educate our elected officials that public policy needs to become more business
friendly. Opportunities to help facilitate new contacts for business development among our
members. Opportunities to continue to provide our members with value-added services that
result in a return on investment many times over of their membership dues.
But we can’t do it alone. We need you to become involved in the Chamber. Only by taking
an active role in Chamber events and activities can you fully realize the benefits of membership.
I encourage you to attend networking lunches and mixers, volunteer for our Ambassadors Committee,
or become a member of our Chair’s Council advocacy group. In short, get involved. At a time when
it is more important to maximize the impact of your marketing efforts, there is simply no more cost
effective form of marketing than your Chamber membership….providing you take advantage of all that
comes with it.
In closing, I’d like to express how honored I am to serve as Chairman of your Chamber, and to
work with a Board of Directors and an Executive Committee whom I hold in the highest regard.
Their exceptional talents and collective leadership will be invaluable to me in our efforts to
advance the interests of our business community.
